Chosen selection of images from my shoot
These are my chosen images from my shoot in terms of how successful they are and how well they relate to my research.
The ones with the hat use a form of the research as Willie Nelson is wearing something on his head. They both have similar leather jackets and tops on and similar long hair and grey stubble.
I took some standing up as Willie Nelson is standing up therefore I wanted to experiment with the same angle and position. However i prefered the ones where my model is seated as it makes the jacket sit better and allow his hands to be another feature of the image.
I prefer the images where he is seated with his body tilted towards the page of the text as it makes the layout appear to fit as the photograph relates to the position of the text.
This is my chosen final image I will take forward to edit for my double page spread. I chose the one without the hat as it allows the hair to appear more related to the rock genre.

I will edit it to have similar colours to this image as it isn't black and white as it has a slight yellow tint to it which makes it different and makes it stand out.
The position of the image and text will also be the same as the image has my models body tilted towards the right hand side.
Analysis of double page spread drawings
These text boxes explain the reasons for certain aspects to show how my research of real media products influenced the forms and conventions I used, developed and challenged.

Double page spread drawings
This is the drawings to help me with the development of my final double page spread.
I was aware of my image I was using therefore one of the pages was very simple in terms of where my model would be positioned and what page he would be placed on. I knew I wanted to use a small piece of text in the empty space in the corner of the image as this was done on a lot of my research as it was a successful way to fill empty space.
The page of text uses the title I have already created however I tested how it would look if the writing was red as I was able to see it on the page with the mass of black therefore I used my drawings to test my ideas to save time in the production as I will be clearer on what to do.
The writing I decided would be in three columns as there wasn't much room however a double page spread needs lots of writing. I tested how it would look with lines separating the columns however with the lines framing my quote and title it appeared over crowded.
On my second drawing I tested how it would look without any column lines: I feel it looks more professional however I will test my hypothesis on InDesign when i come to make it.
The large letter at the beginning of the text is successful as it draws the readers attention to the article. I feel it only needs one large letter despite my research containing a few as my layout contains enough features.
The page numbers fit the page well at the bottom instead of at the top as I have seen on some double page spreads.
The quote is successful as it relates to the piece and adds interest while giving a break to the mass of text. The colour is questionable however I prefer my second drawing where I use red as it relates to the red in the title and stands out from the black text.
From my drawings i have decided against some ideas and created new ones which enables me to be more aware of my final design when creating it. This saves time and makes me sure of how my double page spread should look. This is a worthy piece of development to take forward for my production.

Title development
This development shows how i have used my title research to influence my double page spread title.
All three titles have successful aspects however some are stronger than others.
The first title I tried isn't the best as it doesn't stand out as much as it needs to considering how bland my image is, therefore i feel despite the colour background giving it another aspect it won't look as professional as it needs to.
The second effort follows the research quite closely which is quite successful however the small feature at the bottom doesnt make it stand out as a title enough. It will be placed on a page of text therefore it needs something to make it different from the other text on the page. This would be successful if it was placed on the page of the image as it is in my research however my planning suggests it would fit better on the page of text.
The final title was the best one as it developed the idea of my research and challenged some of the forms yet used the layout enough to show a clear influence through my research to development. The title is bold and the Times New Romans font is fitting to the genre due to the flicks at the end of the letters. The lines seperate the introduction of text from the rest of the writing which gives it a visual aspect. The red words make the names stand out and breaks up the block of writing. This will be the title i use for my double page spread.
