Comparing similar images.

By comparing similar images I can determine how to make my own images better by incorporating the postives from each image. I can then know what not to do when taking my own.

Both images have a main focus; one results and the other school work. However they both are similar in terms of how they appear to the audience.

- I feel the results are more appropriate for my magazine however the use of props in the image on the right is a good focus within the image.

- The angle of each shot is different however I feel both are successful, I like the camera looking up at the image on the left because it draws us in to the story of the image. However the image on the right has used an angle to make a mundane image attract the eye. This shows how important camera angles are when capturing an image.

- The background is clearer to see in the image on the right however I feel having other people in the shot is normally a bad thing if they aren't to be focused on, however in this image I feel it focuses the eye more onto the girls at the side of the image, it balances it out successfully; something I would have to take into consideration when using angles.

- due to both girls looking identical in the image on the left I feel it needs to be broken up a bit so the image is bolder, much like what is done in the image on the right. Their clothes and contrasting hair colours show a stark difference and produces a bolder front image; unlike the left image which uses the same hair colour and tops… resulting in a less eye catching shot.

- Colours are important and the bright lighting of the image on the right is a compliment to the image, this shows editing can improve an original shot and increase the success of the image: This is a useful tip when taking my own.
