Contents page research

This contents page is laid out effectively; the straight set-up ensures it is easy to read and successful in labelling the pages and ensuring the reader is aware of what they are looking for and where about in the magazine it is.

The page numbers are distinctive and visually pleasing in the way they are laid out. The dividers on the page separate the writing and ensure the individual text can be clear and easily read.

The images at the side link to the images on the pages, they involve page numbers printed on them to ensure the reader knows where to find that topic of interest. They have sub headings indicating what the page involves. This ensures the magazine is clear and easy to read ensuring a success amongst the readers.
The colour scheme is simplistic, it revolves around 3 colours; green, grey and white. They contrast each other; the writing stands out on the white background due to the importance of it. The border ties in each colour and ensures the white background isn’t boring due to the border being visually attractive; this therefore catches the eye of the reader.
The swap of colours ensures the contents page draws a lot of attention in, the grey writing on a white background looks strikingly different to the white writing on the grey background; ensuring the colours tie in and compliment each other; yet are contrasting enough to be eye catching.

The images are useful, they are related to the topic it is promoting and are high quality images that are easy to see and understand. Therefore the reader is visually attractive and their interest is heightened by the layout – this is important to the success of the magazine.
